[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [XVII].

Happy birthday, dad!
I had a great chat with my dad this afternoon. Really nice to catch up and see how he's doing.
He does sports massage therapy now, after working for a bank for nearly 30 years. I love him so much. I've learnt a whole lot from him and I'm truly grateful to have a dad like him.

Knowing that God is better than any dad here on earth, and seeing how my dad has lived and raised me and my brothers and been an amazing example of what a dad should be - well that makes me very excited to meet God.

It's been a pretty good day. I'm hoping to get to the Immigration Office tomorrow to talk about my permission to work and my Green Card. The ever-helpful US Government told me that I'd know about a lot of this two weeks ago, so it's thanks to them that we have to run around and follow things through like we are. Nice one, USA. Stellar stuff.

My brother Nathan is off on the Weezer Cruise Tour tomorrow - or at least that's when he flies into Miami. I'm excited for him. He had his first ever flight on Christmas Eve' just gone. I guess it was a nice break-in to the joys of confinement for prolonged periods of time.

So. Photos for the day:

Well, this one's sideways. I had my camera at a stupid angle. We finally got our presents through - the Christmas presents we got for our families. The Christmas presents we ordered before Thanksgiving. Also in the picture, a dollar bill elephant.

Here are the drawings I did of my little figures yesterday. With little lists for each, telling us what they're carrying and wearing, etc.

This is one of the ones I did today. I've drawn it with the intention of putting it into photoshop and colouring it in there.

In other news, my wifey and I stayed up watching WifeSwap last night until 3 am. That's when you know you need a job. I don't think anyone can watch anything on TV at 3 am without feeling like a loser.

I think we'll probably try to get some better sleep tonight... In the meantime, Arkansas isn't doing too well against Kentucky in this basketball game that's on.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [XVI].

The good thing about having pretty much the same title every day is that I can start out by simply typing '[' and it'll drop down with the options of similar titles I've used. Starting with the day before, so I don't have to think that much.

I've had a hugely productive day being a house-husband while my wifey was out on a home visit. It was really nice and relaxed but I got a lot done.

Here we go:

My beautiful wifey calling her best friend. They haven't spoken for a while and it makes me happy that she has girly time.

Finished this guy from yesterday. He's the Roach Hunter. His padded right arm and leg protect him from the vicious jaws of the critters while his little pin sword is on his side in case he wants to keep them at bay. As opposed to test his padded clothes.

Made this guy, too. I'll look for another angle so it's easier to see what's going on.

A (sort of) better angle. He's the Heavy. Wielding a bolt that he uses like a mallet to smash and mash his foes, he also carries with him and candle and a nail. The latter being similar to (but more heavy duty than) the pin sword that the guy I made yesterday and the Roach Hunter carry. This guy has longer arms to fully distribute his weight as he lumbers around the floor.

This is the best shot I got of my latest bloke. I made him from a few little bits from the garden - a staff made from the stalk of a leaf, an acorn-butt hat and a couple of small twig bits atop a little roll of fabric make up his backpack. Taller than the others from some unknown reason, he's a little quicker and more nimble when he's not weighed down with his pack.

I've drawn out the figures I've made, too. I want to think of some rules for them - in a game-type setting or something like that. I haven't taken a photo of that drawing yet, so I haven't got one to post, but if three of these guys don't suffice then I don't know what to do.

It's so hot here.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [XV].

Welp. I was pretty sad I posted a minute after the deadline of yesterday, but it was before I went to bed, so I'm going to count that as good.

Seeing as though my wifey was sick last night, we've done a fair bit. I'm very happy with the things we've done today, actually.

Here we go:
My wifey scooping out the jam from the jars so we can make our Redneck Wineglasses.

Here are the components for the Redneck Wineglasses. They're together and done now, so when they're set and ready, I'll take another photo of them.

I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS! I made this guy out of floral wire and scraps of fabric. My idea is to make a couple of them and kit them out with little things I find around the house.

He stands up as well! It was hoped for, but not planned. A lovely surprise.

And for those who don't count making as being as good as drawing, I coloured in the guy I drew yesterday. Colouring in and making something must be as good as drawing one thing, right? Right.

I'm going to Chili's with the family. I can't wait. They have the best ribs EVER.

FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [XIV].

Buh.
Long day.

This was on the way into town this morning. The leaves are still this green and it's still this sunny. In the middle of winter. I'm assured that this is not normal.

And a man holding a redneck wine glass. Instructions for the wine glass are next to him. This is a project that my wifey and I are about to do. We're looking forward to it.

Bed time.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [XIII].

I went out for what I thought would be an hour or so with my father-in-law today and ended up scaring my wifey when she got home because we weren't in a didn't answer our phones... 4 hours later :s We're ok, though. And everything's fine now.

I also missed a photograph this morning - I was dropping my wifey off at her job and some poor soul's Jeep had caught fire - probably 15/20 minutes before we drove past their house. On the coldest day since we've been here, too!

For today:

The cat feels left out of everything now that we've got another dog, so I thought I'd include him in my project. Meet Chewy. He gets into fights and has probably broken each one of his legs at least once.

And I coloured in my Lost Ghost from yesterday. I'm pretty happy with it - especially the thrown-in background. Not done that before.

I'm off to chill with my wifey :D

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [XII].

I got Photoshop working again! I'm so happy! I just started drawing and drawing - trying out a new style and all that.

I went back to sleep this morning - I don't tend to nap, so I don't mind that every now and then, I fall asleep again for a couple of hours during the day.

For today:

I was Baby/Dogsitting this guy today. He's cute. He poops in every corner of the house and pees all over the floor, but he's cute.

This is my rendition of The Lost Ghost. I've seen a good few of them today - one of the best ones being this one below. Mine didn't start out as The Lost Ghost, so I'd've done it differently, but it sort of turned into him in the end. Maybe I'll try again some time.

Yea, this is the one. You can find it in this guy's gallery: http://thefranchize.deviantart.com/

He's got a good style - I especially like the Brotherhood of Fighters piece he's done. Very nice indeed and fairly similar to my style. I think I might emulate this style to get a grasp of colouring in photoshop.

I like trying to share links to other arty folk on here. There's a huge world of inspiration out there, so it's hard to pick. I'll try doing one a week - how's that?

That's for reading.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [XI].

Well... Thoroughly unproductive morning, but I guess collecting reference images is one step above going back to sleep.

Opened Photoshop to find it telling me that the license for it has run out. Not too sure what to make of it - I bought the full product and have been using it happily for a long time. I don't like this. I still have the discs, though, so there shouldn't be a problem.

For today:

It's the 11th of January and it is still this sunny! The only bad day we've had so far was yesterday, with rain and drizzle all day. It's still T-shirt weather! Apparently, there's going to be snow next week, so I'm looking forward to that. Or something colder, anyway. It's nice that it's sunny, but it's just not winter if it's not cold...

And my rage at the computer realised in pen and paper form. It's more of a rage against the Photoshop license - I wouldn't want to blow up the laptop itself.

...

Maybe I should have gone back to sleep...

I'm going to make lunch for me and my wifey. I love her so much.

Peace.
