[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [CVII - CVIII].

Days 107 and 108 see my wifey and camping and snake chasing and things.  Superb!

The images for the drawing part of these posts are for a church project that I've done.  My email account isn't letting me attach them and dropbox won't let me drop them there.  So this is my last resort.

So.  Today, I'm posting the drawings first.  I don't normally do that, but I want to get this post published with them as soon as possible.  Posting them first and then editing the post later will save the time I've taken explaining all of that.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [CVI]. Again.

Thought I'd put another photo up for today:

This guy was outside the church tonight.  I caught him and put him on a table and took a few shots.

A good friend has lent me their 50 mm lens, so I'm really excited to use it as much as I can before I give it back to him!  Finding some snakes should be a pretty fun excuse to use it.  Not that I need an excuse; I'm pretty sure I took photos of my knee with it at some point.

I've been drawing for the past couple of days, too.  I just haven't uploaded them.  Sorry to have been somewhat of a disappointment over the past couple of days - I'm getting used to the fact that my computer needs some patience now that it's in a funk.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [CV and CVI].

Two days after upgrading my computer, I can tenuously use the internet, so I'm going to make the most of it and post to my blog!
I upgraded my computer and it's not taken it well.  I think it got offended that I hinted at wanting something better and so it's decided to go nice and slow.  Buh.  I'm going to find some time to get out and find snakes and go fishing and camping with my wifey this week, so I'm not going to let this bog me down.  Even if I can't open my itunes any more.

For the other day:

A little toad that was hiding under the shed in the back yard.  I think I have effectively exhausted any and every hiding spot in the back yard.  All I can do now is hope that a new creature makes their way to a post that I haven't looked at for a few days.

Some people came to cut down some trees in our gardens yesterday morning.  At about 6:45 in the morning.  They cut down one tree, left for several hours to repair their chainsaws and then came back to tell us that the other trees were bigger than they expected and that they couldn't do it on that day.  So they could have come round at 11:30, worked and then been gone for lunch for the rest of the day.  But no, they wanted to wake us up so we knew they were working.  I don't mind.  It's not like we can't go back to sleep.

So it looks like the upgrade has also jacked up how my posts come together when I'm writing them and adding images.  Good grief.

I'm going to watch the Office with my wifey.  It makes me laugh quite a bit.

Peace.

Project 365 day 104

I upgraded my computer. I appreciate the upgrade SO MUCH, but now I can't get on the Internet for more than 5 minutes and that's after having to reset the computer.

It took 4 hours to install and then it froze for a further 3 hours. I'm told that apple likes to do that sort of thing - release upgrades for newer models while screwing over those with older models. Yay, apple, right?

I got some great photos of a project that I'm working on and a good number of shots of a toad in the back yard.

So for today:

There's a photo of my current position on the couch and something that I've drawn today.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [CIII].

When spelled out in English, with the word 'and'; 103 is the smallest number with 18 characters.

For today:

A mite! Not a bad one - just one of those little ones that crawl round walls and fences and things. I swept him onto my arm and chased it round with my camera.

I figured the frogs had a good run at being frogsnakes, so here's a toadsnake. More mild than the frogsnakes, these guys are more helpful than they are aggressive. ... I'll probably have another go when I get a good reference picture of a toad...

I got some really nice pictures of a cicada husk this afternoon. It was fun to see it up close.

Tomorrow sees a big load of work being done, so I'm going to go to bed and get back to you as soon as I get a spare moment.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [CII].

The Empire State Building has 102 floors.

For today:

I've called this photo 'Ehpple' because it's a photo of my Mac and eh.

Another Frogsnake. Just the head, though, because I lost focus with the rest of it. It's a mess.

Not that much today. I've done a fair bit, but nothing that was exciting enough to document. Maybe tomorrow :)

I've made a few posts on the 'Herps of Arkansas' site that I joined yesterday. They seem nice over there. I'm enjoying identifying a few things I've seen round here.

Peace.

[Project:ThreeSixFive] Day [CI].

The game Fallout 3 starts with you, the player, as a character in Vault 101. The game really takes place outside this vault, but this is a good fact for the number 101.

101st Airborne Division was the place 'Easy Company' was assigned to in Band of Brothers. The 101st Airborne Division's motto is "Rendezvous with Destiny" and their nickname is the Screaming Eagles.

It's been a great day. I took a three hour nap this morning. I don't normally nap so I know I needed to catch up if I slept this long!

For today:

My father-in-law was trimming up some hedges and making the garden a bit tidier. He came across this little nest and got me outside to look at it. Some lovely little eggs in there! I took some photos and left it alone.

Threw some colour onto the Frogsnakes I drew yesterday. I don't know what to arm then with - if anything. And I'm torn between giving them loud warning colours and giving them colours to blend in places... Maybe both.

I joined the Herps of Arkansas forums today. It's a great site. I uploaded a couple of photos and said hi to the guys on there. Nice bunch from my first impressions.

We went to the Janet Huckabee Nature Centre for dinner. My father-in-law got us a load of Chili's and we ate it by the lake. Then I went fishing for a bit. I caught three of these guys in 5 minutes with a single caterpillar! Then one more about an hour later.

Here's the third one I caught. They weren't very big at all. I'm going to get some smaller hooks and take my wifey out there again some time this week. The hooks we were using were about 1/4 - 1/3 of the length of this fish!

Time for bed. I'm super stoked after a day of cleaning, Herp-foruming and fishing. And Chili's.

Also, my cousin-in-law made a huge decision this afternoon - she became a Christian! She asked God to forgive her of all the things she's done wrong and is now looking to live a life that resembles that of Christ. It's a hard decision to follow but man, is it worth it! If the only reason that my wifey and I were here this whole year was so that my wifey would be available to pray with her cousin this afternoon, then that's good enough for us. This is a great day.

Peace.
